\nThe well-known steel preservation standard ISO 12944-6 specifies immersion tests in NaOH, sulfuric acid, and mineral spirits for a duration of 1 week according to ISO 2812-1 for corrosion category C5-I. In addition, water immersion according to ISO 2812-2 is conducted for 2,000 or 3,000 hours for the Im corrosion categories.<\/p>\n
The laboratory also performs so-called one-side testing according to NACE TM-0174 or ASTM C868, also known as the Atlas cell method, which simulates a non-insulated storage tank. The test can also be performed with additional cooling on the exterior.<\/p>\n
